One of Link Romania's central aims is to bring education to people and especially chidlren to help them out of poverty. We run a series of kindergartens and after school clubs in different villages and we recieve reports from our teams each month.
Iasi
In the kindergarten in Iasi this month we had only half of the children, the other half being ill because of the flu. The topic they learned this month was "Communication". They have learned about emails, phones etc. They have also learned about how communicate those who are visually impaired. They made a laptop and a tv set out of a cardboard. It was also exciting to learn how to talk over the phone. One of the most remarkable students was Abel, whose spelling is excellent. He is also very gifted in music.
Rediu
In Rediu the 12 children came almost every day. Their topic for this month was "People who help us". They made drawings representing different skills. They also played the role of some people. The ybuilt a Lego town with people, buildings, police and firemen cars, ambulances etc. The children were very excited to find out more about these skills and to make plans regarding their carrier.
In Slobozia the number of the children varies from 10 to 16. They have learned about communication in writing and speech, especially on the phone.
Erbiceni
In Erbiceni we had very good results this month. The people of the village are very content with the work of Dan and Viorica. The school teachers also have a lot of trust in the couple's work. They send the children who have learning difficulties to our Centre. They raised together some funds and they bought materials to cook pancakes and a big anniversary cake. They have eaten them together.
The children get every day also a warm soup prepared with ingredients we have received from a local charity. The children are very happy, because most of them do not eat anything at home or in the school, before they come to our Centre. The food they get from us is important for them.
We hope you have enjoyed reading the reports. We will be updating the work of our Education team on a monthly basis. If you would like to find out more about the work or would consider sponsoring a child please contact us on 01903 529333.
