Trekking 2010 - The Transylvanian Trek
For regular supporters of the charity you will know that we put on our first challenge in September 2008 - The Carpathian Challenge. 120km in 6 days through the beautiful hills of Romania. We also raised £35k in the process which went to funds such projects as childrens playgrounds in Albania, building a new soup kitchen in Moldova and a new house for ex-orphanage boys in Romania.
We are now launching our Challenge for 2010 - the Transylvanian Trek which will be a little bit different. We will be walking at a higher altitude this time and some of the accomodation will be in mountain huts along the way. We will also manage to include visits to Bucharest, the Peoples Palace and 'Dracula's Castle' along the way so it will be a varied trip. More details are to follow but we plan to run this trek in July and we are looking for 20 people who would like to participate. The cost of the trek excluding flights will be around £850 (still to be confirmed) but that includes all transport, accomodation, guides, food etc. Trekkers raised an average of £2,500 but there is no minimum amount required.
