Some of the team who are going on the Carpathian Challenge Trek in September decided to help their preparations by coming down to Worthing last Sunday and doing a 12 mile walk led by volunteer John Lelliott along the South Downs Way.

It was that time of the year again when the lovely staff and volunteers of Link Romania spent the day on Worthings promenade along with 100 other charities fundraising and meeting the public.

9am Sunday morning yours truly drove the Luton Van onto the seafront narrowly getting through an extremely small gap and ending up at our allotted space.  We offloaded all the items we had collected together including clothes, bric a brac, books, video's as well as a Tombola and a Guess the Pig (!) game.

Christine Le Poidevin who is going on the Carpathian Trek in September has been busy fundraising.  She held a 'Tea at the Ritzz' with her friends and family and raised over £200 which is fantastic.

We now have 16 people signed up for the Carpathian Challenge Trek that we running in September 2008.  Most of the participants were able to join us in Worthing for the introduction and fundraising day which was held at the charites headquarters in Park Road, Worthing.

Trekkers were introduced to Link Romania and its work by Lisa Hector, General Manager and she spoke about how the charity also supported projects in Albania and Moldova as well as Romania.
