"Since 1991, Link Romania has been working to make a difference in the lives of poor and needy people, in Romania and other Eastern European countries. Although the needs of the people no longer make headlines in the west, they are still as pressing as ever."

 SHOEBOX APPEAL VIDEO 2009/10

Link Romania was started in the UK in 1991 as a direct result of the humanitarian crisis in Romania that occurred there at the fall of communism. Unfortunately there are still great needs in Romania and in other Eastern European countries.  Link Romania in the UK exists to provide the funding to support current projects based mainly in Romania in the NE but also in Albania and the Republic of Moldova.

The charity is based in Worthing, West Sussex but is supported nationwide by a network of supporters

The objectives of the charity are:-

 - the relief of poverty and sickness

 - the advancement of education amongst the poor and disadvantaged

 - to encourage local employment and skills development

 - provide sanctuary and support for under priviledged individuals

 - support development of locally led charity work

We are a Christian organisation but we support projects and people regardless of religious background, colour or creed.  Our projects include:

 - Rebuilding lives and communities in Shanty Towns

 - Working with the homeless and those living in hostels

 - Running kindergartens for the poor

 - Supporting the Farm of Hope for ex-orphanage boys

 - Soup kitchens and working with street children

We support our projects through:-

 - The annual Shoebox Appeal

 - Our charity shops based in and around the Worthing Area

 - Furniture Project - restoring and selling second hand furniture

 -  A wide variety of Fundraising activity that takes place all year round

 - Standing Orders, donations and contributions from supporters all over the UK
